Burbang is a large-scale new work of immersive dance-theatre currently undergoing research and creative development.

Burbang imagines what ceremony might look, sound and feel like in a fictional Australia that had never been colonised. The final immersive production will conjure an event from a future — perhaps parallel — society that venerates First Nations practices, rituals and protocols, centering them as part of everyday life.

Burbang aims to breathe life into the ceremonial practice of the Wiradjuri people, not through a reconstruction of what once was, but through the use of contemporary performance-making and technology. Audiences are invited to marvel the profound beauty and sophistication of ceremonial practices Indigenous to this continent.
