Job 1) ADMINISTRATOR
The Administrator is a key role in a small team, responsible for keeping the organisation running smoothly by managing the day-to-day operations that support staff, leadership, and stakeholders. The Administrator acts as the central coordination point of the company, ensuring systems, communication, and logistics are organised and efficient.
Job type: Part time, 22.8 hours per week (3 days). Salary: $55-$60k pro rata, plus superannuation.
This is a fixed term contract until November 30, 2026. This is a contract role but could be turned into part-time or full-time.
Location: Work from home, with one day a week together with the team in an office location (Melb CBD, or inner North). Some work on location may be required for larger projects.
Time frame: Start date -late March. Applications close March 30, with applicants being shortlisted and interviewed as received - first suitable candidate will be appointed to the role.

About Joel Bray Dance
Joel Bray Dance is a small but thriving, First Nations led, contemporary dance company, based in Naarm. Since 2016, Joel Bray, Creative Director, has been creating and performing solo and ensemble works which have been presented at many festivals, events and venues across Australia as well as internationally.
The company has achieved great success creatively and continues to do so, with new works in development, a recent world premiere and a large regional tour occurring across 2025/26 and international touring for 2026/2027.
Over the past 3-4 years particularly the company has been sharpening its business practice, with a view to create bolder and more sustainable trajectories for the company. We are in a time of positive change and growth and looking to bring some new skilled members to our small team.

The Role:
The role has three key areas of focus:
Office and systems management
Team and project coordination
Administrative and marketing support
You will assist in maintaining and streamlining office systems and the implementation of our new database, coordinating a central communications hub across a busy organisational calendar. You will report to the Executive Producer and, at times, support the administrative needs of the Creative Director.
As the team grows, strong communication and collaboration skills will be essential, along with the ability to take initiative and manage competing priorities.
Key responsibilities
Administrative coordination
Manage calendars, meetings, travel and scheduling to support efficient workflows
Support preparation for Board meetings and internal planning sessions
Prepare contact sheets and schedules for company works, rehearsals, tours, etc
Prepare contracts / agreements for contractors, artists, casual staff, volunteers
Collate the company’s annual audit requirements, in consultation with the Executive Producer
Communication support
Respond to enquiry emails and general correspondence
Act as a key internal and external communication point
Marketing and comms support for our development team
Coordinate video & photographic documentation of company projects & programs
Oversee the updating and maintenance of LGI’s company archive
Document and data management
Assist us to complete a new database build
Lead the Integration of the new database system into our daily workflow
Maintain records, filing systems and databases
Assist with annual reports and grant acquittal reporting
Operational support
Maintain and improve office systems and processes
Assist with general organisational administration
Support the coordination of fundraising activities and donor relationship management, in collaboration with the Executive Producer
Support the management of grant processes including applications, reporting, acquittals, and other contractual obligations
Financial administration support
Process expenses and support basic bookkeeping tasks
Team and project support
Support staff with logistics and organisational needs
Assist project teams on events and fundraising activities for donors and supporters
Project coordination
A major focus this year is transitioning existing database and systems information into new platforms. This role offers the opportunity to think strategically across the company and help implement systems that support clear workflows, communication and planning.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting timelines, schedules and planning across multiple projects
Helping manage the overall project calendar in collaboration with the management team
Preparing agendas for weekly meetings, taking minutes and circulating notes
Maintaining and improving new systems in consultation with the Executive team
Drafting proposals, briefs and reports as required
Working independently from home while maintaining regular communication with the team
Troubleshooting workflow challenges and supporting solutions when priorities shift
Software familiarity (or willingness to learn):
Mac systems, Airtable (or similar CRM), Mail Chimp, Microsoft Office, Zoom/Teams, Google Drive, Miro
Qualifications and experience
This role would suit someone with previous administration experience and who is looking to broaden their skills within a creative organisation.
Desirable background:
Studies in arts management, project management or a related field
Experience in arts administration or similar small-team environments
Interest in the arts, dance sector, or a willingness to engage with the industry
Key selection criteria
Previous experience as an administrator, project officer, or similar role
Experience supporting database and systems management or implementation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong time management and organisational skills
Demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to work effectively within a small team with mixed full-time and part-time hours
Interest in the creative industries and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Desirable selection criteria
Experience working in the not-for-profit sector and/or with First Nations creatives and collaborators
Interest or involvement in the arts sector
Project or event coordination experience

Job 2) DIGITAL PRODUCT AND GROWTH LEAD (FRACTIONAL)
In Wiradjuri, Marra-Marra means ‘Makers’. Joel Bray Dance is seeking a high-calibre Digital Product & Growth Lead to architect our most ambitious digital community venture yet.
This is a rare opportunity for a "Scientist-Architect" to build a digital Corroboree Ground where First Nations artistic legacy meets modern product strategy. We need a strategist who can bridge the gap between high-level vision (Fractional CMO) and technical execution (Product Manager) to drive the commercial independence of our work.
The Commitment: 0.4 FTE (2 days per week) for an initial 12–14 weeks (with intent to extend).
The Profile: A "Zero-to-One" operator comfortable with D2C membership ecosystems and community-led growth.
The Mission: Apply technical and commercial rigour to power First Nations artistic independence.
